About The Woodlands
The Woodlands is located 28 miles north of Houston,
in the Montgomery County. The community of the
Woodlands was founded in 1974 by George P. Mitchell.
The Woodlands is full of architectural beauty,
delicious restaurants, and an amazing selection of
entertainment. If you are on a shopping spree, you
can enjoy world-class shopping at over 300 unique
shops at Market Street and The Woodlands Mall.
The Woodlands Hotels, located
downtown of the Woodlands, are close to a variety of
local activities and attractions including golfing
at Woodlands Golf Course and fishing, boating on
nearby Lake Conroe. If you come to the Woodlands
make sure to stop by at the Panther Trail golf
course and shoot some balls and then catch a
first-class performing entertainment at the Cynthia
Woods Mitchell Pavilion. The Woodlands has over 100
parks in a variety of shapes and sizes: Town Green
in Town Center, Terramont Park, Windvale Park or the
most recent addition - George Mitchell Nature
Preserve, a 1,700 acre park built in the memory of
the community's founder. When it will be finished,
this park will offer an amazing and challenging
setting for hiking, horseback riding, mountain
biking, camping and kayaking.
The Woodlands is home to more than eight beautiful
golf courses: The Woodlands Country Club East
Course, Montgomery County Golf Center, Canongate At
the Woodlands, Panther Trail Course or The Woodlands
Country Club Palmer Course, just to name a few.
